Heel pain is one of the most common complaints we treat at Total Podiatry.

The causes are varied but often it is due to ligament strain, nerve entrapment or stress reactions to the bone itself. In children it can be due to a section of the heel where the bone has not yet fused.

After assessment by a skilled foot specialist, Podiatry treatment usually involves conservative management once the biomechanical cause is correctly identified. However, if left untreated these conditions can progress to more complicated conditions and require more invasive techniques. This is why it is important to engage with podiatric services early to prevent later disease
